Support to Our Local Community

At Gillingham Baptist Church we also aim to provide facilities and events that are useful to the local community.  These include:

STEPS   [Parents/Carers & Toddlers Group].

This meets on Mondays, between 10.00 and 11.15 am, during school term time.  An opportunity for a chat, refreshments and a listening ear.  Other activities are also being planned.

Prime Time.

This is held on Tuesdays between 2.00 and 3.30pm.  There is always an exciting programme of speakers and events for people in the ‘prime of life’.  It’s an opportunity to meet together, for friendship, tea, worship and to enjoy a range of different speakers and talks.  Occasional outings and other social activities are also undertaken.

Craft Time.

This informal group meets to learn crafts and to chat.  The year is split into a number of sessions.  Each session will consist of 6 meetings that are held at fortnightly intervals on Thursday mornings, between 10.00am and 12.00pm.  Click here for details of current sessions.

Typical crafts included are Crochet, Fresh Flower Arranging, Glass Painting, Patchwork and other assorted crafts.  You could also bring your own craft and have a chat.  If you are interested please contact the Church Office.

ALPHA Course.

Looking for answers?  The Alpha course is an opportunity for anyone to explore the Christian faith in a relaxed, and non-threatening manner.  It's low key, friendly and fun.  And it's supported by all the main Christian denominations.

For details of courses etc please click on the ALPHA at GBC button on the left above.

Rooms for Use by Outside Organisations, Groups & Individuals.

We have a couple of rooms, including the new “Lighthouse” room (see top picture on the left), which can be used by outside organisations, groups and individuals.  Currently the National Blood Service, Weight Watchers and someone giving private dancing lessons, use these on a regular basis.  The bottom picture on the left shows our Main Hall.

The rooms are available for hire at reasonable rates (currently for one off events only).  Please contact the Church Administrator at the Church Office on 01634-850369 or by e-mail for a booking form plus terms and conditions of hire.

Please note alcohol and smoking is not allowed on the premises.
